From the famous Venus figurines to the iconic cave paintings of Lascaux and Chauvet—and much more—prehistoric art was revealed at the Musée de l’Homme from November 16, 2022, to May 22, 2023. The temporary exhibition featured over 90 original prehistoric artifacts and hundreds of digitized images of paintings and engravings.

Blending the contemplation of physical objects with a sensorial and digital immersion into the world of parietal and rock art, Art and Prehistory offered a unique opportunity to journey into a time beyond memory.

As part of the exhibition's scenography team, reciproque designed two interactive experiences and twelve audiovisual programs for the immersive section of the exhibition. This involved defining the content alongside the curators, specifying the technical requirements of the equipment, and supervising the production and installation processes.

These programs spanned a variety of formats: image projections onto relief surfaces, aerial footage montages of landscapes, narrative videos explaining prehistoric artistic techniques, and a retelling of the mysterious symbolic scene of the Lascaux Shaft.

The production of the programs was entrusted to Novapista Association and Mazedia. These creations brought visitors into intimate contact with the countless forms of parietal and rock art, encouraging interaction and wonder.
