Napoléon
Competition entry for the design of multimedia installations for the temporary exhibition

Organized to mark the bicentenary of Napoleon Bonaparte’s death, the Napoleon exhibition was designed for a broad audience, showcasing the figure in his most iconic light: as a renowned character, a romantic life story, and an extraordinary legacy — a dazzling portrayal of a foundational era in modern French history. The exhibition was structured around immersive sequences and featured 150 exceptional objects from some of the most prestigious museums.

reciproque joined Maciej Fiszer’s team for the competition to design all the digital mediation devices, with a focus on immersion and interactivity for the general public. The proposal included large graphic murals to welcome visitors, interactive maps illustrating the strategies of major battles, and a full-scale interactive presentation of The Coronation of Napoleon. As visitors approached the painting, they could interact with the image to discover the figures depicted and uncover the political and sociological references hidden in the details of the artwork.
Maciej Fiszer’s scenographic proposal was not selected following the competition.
