Redesigning the visitor experience at the Berliner Fernsehturm
At 368 metres tall, the Berliner Fernsehturm is one of Germany’s most iconic landmarks. Built in the 1960s, it is now a symbol of reunified Berlin and welcomes over a million visitors each year. Its observation deck and revolving restaurant offer exceptional views of the capital.
In partnership with Ralph Appelbaum Associates, Reciproque is supporting the transformation of the visitor experience at the tower.
The brief involves rethinking the visitor route and the reception and educational spaces on the viewing platform in order to refresh the narrative presented to visitors and enrich their exploration of Berlin.
The new project revitalises the historical and urban narrative presented to visitors, offering a richer and more accessible insight into the Berlin skyline.
The team has also devised and incorporated new digital and interactive features to enhance visitors’ exploration of the city and its main landmarks.
The first phase of the project, focusing on the viewing platform, is now open to the public.
This project showcases Reciproque’s expertise in designing cultural experiences for major tourist attractions. It demonstrates our ability to transform a panoramic view into an interactive interpretative experience, within a space that welcomes over 1.2 million visitors a year.
