Memento
Support for the design and implementation of digital solutions
Designed as a cultural facility open to all, MEMENTO brings together on a single site the Vaucluse Departmental Archives, the Departmental Archaeology Service, the storage facilities of the departmental museums, a memorial space dedicated to Vaucluse, the State Centre for Conservation and Studies, as well as spaces dedicated to the Greater Avignon Archives Service. The building houses 40 linear kilometres of archives.
The ambition of the Vaucluse Department is to make MEMENTO a leading centre for the transmission of heritage, a centre for interpretation and cultural mediation serving the public good. Bringing together various professions and areas of heritage expertise enables the development of a cross-disciplinary and innovative cultural offering.
The Department has entrusted Reciproque with the design and implementation of MEMENTO’s digital project, deployed both on-site and online. The aim is to provide tools to aid visitors’ understanding, as well as research and consultation tools for service users.
reciproque ran ideation workshops with the teams, analysed existing resources and conducted a benchmarking exercise of existing systems in order to design a sustainable digital engagement ecosystem, deployed in both indoor and outdoor spaces.
The agency also designed a catalogue of reusable installations for temporary exhibitions, as well as adapting them for the inaugural exhibition. It supported the Department in adapting the building to the technical requirements of the digital project. The team defined the detailed site map for the web portal.
reciproque supported the Department in drafting the tender documents for contracts relating to audiovisual supply, multimedia content production, and the development, hosting and maintenance of the website, followed by the analysis of applications and bids, and in managing the various service providers until the spaces opened to the public.
The multimedia content was produced by a collective comprising Femme Fatale, Nuits Noires and Théoriz. The technical equipment was deployed by Videlio. The website was designed and developed by Rezo Zero.
