The worlds of Colette
Design and development of an interface for sharing citations
For the temporary exhibition Les mondes de Colette at the Bibliothèque François Mitterrand (23 September 2025 to 18 January 2026), reciproque has designed and developed an interface for viewing and sharing quotations drawn from the body of work of this key figure in 20th-century literature.
Visitors can explore around a hundred keywords spread across several on-site terminals located at the end of the exhibition route, corresponding to three major themes in the author’s work and grouped into sub-themes. The interface is inspired by navigation maps, serving as navigable maps of the literary worlds explored by Colette throughout her life.
When a visitor selects a keyword, the app generates a unique digital postcard featuring a quote from the author related to the chosen word. Visitors can then save this postcard to their phone by scanning a QR code, or share it via email.
This feature thus offers visitors the opportunity to discover themes dear to Colette, to share them with their loved ones, or to keep a personalized memento of their visit to the exhibition.
